BUDGET & SCOPE

What affects video production cost in Miami?

Two quotes for a “one-minute video” can cover very different work. Compare the production behind the running time before deciding which proposal fits your business.

Start with the job the video needs to do

A filmed conversation in one prepared room and a product commercial across several locations both might finish at sixty seconds. Their preparation, crew, setup time and edit are different. Describe the audience, the message and where the finished piece will appear before asking for a price.

For a Miami law firm, the priority might be clear interview audio and several approved topics recorded at the office. For an e-bike brand, it might be a product demonstration and a lifestyle sequence. Those briefs need different production plans.

The decisions that change the quote

  • Preparation: concept development, interview questions, shot planning and coordination take time before the shoot.
  • Production: crew size, equipment, number of filming days and the time needed to reset each scene affect scope.
  • Locations: access, travel, permissions and arrangements for an alternative location should be discussed before booking.
  • People and products: presenters, talent, wardrobe, styling, props and product preparation may need separate allowances.
  • Post-production: editing, color, sound, graphics, captions and versions should be listed clearly.
  • Usage: agree where the work will run and whether talent, music or other licensed material covers those uses.

Compare proposals line by line

Ask each production partner to quote the same brief. Check the filming hours, included deliverables, languages, aspect ratios, revision rounds and deadline. A lower initial quote may simply include fewer final assets.

Name one person to collect feedback. Clarify whether later changes to the approved concept, extra filming or additional versions require a new estimate. These details are more useful than comparing a single headline price.

  • What exactly arrives at the end of the project?
  • Who supplies the script, presenter, products and location?
  • Which review rounds are included, and when is feedback due?
  • Does the quote cover the intended paid and organic placements?
  • Are travel, licensed assets and any optional add-ons identified?

Make the booked production time count

Prioritize a small set of essential scenes. Keep products ready, choose approved speakers and prepare the space before the crew arrives. If you need both vertical and horizontal edits, plan the framing before shooting.

A batch session can be useful when several videos share a speaker, location or product setup. It still needs a realistic topic list. Recording more material does not automatically make every additional edit part of the original price.

What to send for a useful estimate

Share your business, target viewer, main message, channels, deadline, working budget and a few relevant references. Include the people and locations you can provide. Your production partner can then suggest which scope fits and where a simpler treatment might be effective.
